Fire protection of concrete structures: Fibrexpan®

Fibrexpan® is a spray-on fibrous coating that can be used for fire protection of concrete structures. Fibrexpan® is a dry material composed of slag wool, hydraulic and semi-synthetic binders and various additives; It is supplied in flake format.

Fibrexpan® is a spray-on product. The spraying technique, also known as flocking, consists in applying Fibrexpan® fibres under pressure, using special machines.
The sprayed thickness will be defined according to the desired fire insulation rating.

The spraying machine comprises a feed hopper, a carding device, a blowing device (fan, turbine or blower), and a hose for conveying the mixture to be sprayed. Plus a spray gun used to apply the fibrous Fibrexpan® mixture, and water.

The product is carded in the machine, then fed to the spray gun by means of compressed air. Water-fed nozzles are placed around the hose outlet to wet the product before it is sprayed onto the substrate.

The thickness of the spray-on coating will vary according to the thickness of the reinforced concrete slab and of the steel coatings, depending on whether this involves:
• concrete slabs: Fibrexpan® thickness will vary between 44 and 215 mm for an REI performance of between 30 and 240 minutes.
• beams on single or continuous concrete supports with width greater than or equal to 150 mm: Fibrexpan® thickness will vary between 40 and 80 mm for an REI performance of between 30 and 240 minutes.
• concrete walls: Fibrexpan® thickness will vary between 44 and 80 mm for an REI performance of between 30 and 240 minutes.

Fire protection of concrete structures: Fibrofeu®

First, a bonding agent must be applied
Projiso Fixo B® is used for concrete supports. Projiso Fixo B® is a solution of vinyl derivatives with a high molecular weight and a high degree of polymerisation.
Projiso Fixo B® is applied with a brush, roller or low-pressure sprayer on a clean, sound surface.

The coating will be finished with Projiso Fixo Dur® ou le Sidairless®.
Projiso Fixo Dur® acts by impregnation. Its novel formula combined with its particularly low viscosity allows it to penetrate the fibrous coating to a depth of up to 15 mm. It is applied by spraying.
Sidairless® is a coating specially designed for the surfacing and mechanical reinforcement of fibrous coatings. It is applied using pumps for spray-applied coatings.
Colouring in pastel shades can be done directly on site.

Fire protection of concrete structures: Fireplaster 270®

Fireplaster 270® is a sprayable powder mixture used for fire protection of concrete structures.
The material is based on plaster, vermiculite and special additives.
Fireplaster 270® is a spray-on coating used for fire resistance of concrete structures.
Fireplaster 270® is a spray-on product. This slurry mixture is a mortar that is supplied in powder format. Fireplaster 270® is sprayed on using a pump/mixer, first passing through a hose and a spray gun mixed with air.

The machine includes a feed hopper, a mixing chamber, a pump (important depending on the product to be sprayed), a hose to convey the spray mixture, and a spray gun that delivers the mixture.

The thickness of the spray-on coating will vary according to the thickness of the reinforced concrete slab and the steel coatings, depending on whether this involves:
• concrete slabs: Fireplaster 270® thickness will vary between 11 and 58 mm for an REI performance of between 30 and 240 minutes.
• beams on single or continuous concrete supports with width greater than or equal to 150 mm: Fireplaster 270® thickness will vary between 16 and 67 mm for an R performance of between 30 and 240 minutes.
• concrete walls: Fireplaster 270® thickness will vary between 11 and 58 mm for an REI performance of between 30 and 240 minutes.
